"Ed was absolutely wonderful!! He was so thorough in everthing he did and made the process of buying a house as easy as possible! We would use Ed again in a heartbeat! And we will recommend him to everyone we know!" - Edward

"We just wanted to thank you again for all your hard work! It did not go un-noticed and we want to let you know we appreciate it. Please feel free to use us as a reference at any time!” “We again wanted to applaud your attitude during the whole process. You never got discouraged although we looked at many houses and you never tried to pressure us into buying something that we didn't like. You were even the first to point out some major flaws in the houses we looked at." - Sandy and Eric

"I loved working with Ed McCaffrey! He was fantastic! Couldn’t believe how nice and thorough he was with our home purchase. As new homeowners, we had soooo many questions and he was always right on top of things, or contacting people who could answer our questions. Family told us that we were lucky to have him as our realtor, as most realtors do not put in as much time and energy and Ed did. I have already recommended them to friends (who just bought a house with Ed) and have many more friends who will be ready shortly and I will send them their way! Thanks again for everything." - Kristin and Scott

"Ed provided excellent advise, superior knowledge of the market and the utmost in professionalism" - Matt

About Ed

After a long career in chemical sales and technical service, Ed and his wife Kathy moved to Essex, CT to be closer to their 2 daughters and other family members.  They built a small cape style home with a first floor master bedroom and two upstairs bedrooms for guests.  The home also featured an open floor plan (Ed says they don’t miss a formal dining room and a formal living room).

After four years of traveling and enjoying the benefits of a slower pace of life in a small New England village, Ed enthusiastically began a new career in real estate, joining Page Taft Real Estate (before they became Page Taft – Compass) in 2004.  Having bought and sold personal homes in Ohio, Rhode Island, Georgia and Connecticut, and many years as a real estate agent, Ed understands that buying and selling a home is one of the most stressful events in a person’s life. When working with clients, Ed exhibits tireless patience and understanding, attention to detail, and logical thinking needed in today’s highly turbulent and unpredictable market.

Ed thrives on meeting new people and showing them all that the Connecticut shoreline has to offer: small town living, fresh seafood and a lifestyle that others will envy.

When not focusing on real estate, Ed enjoys cycling, hiking, photography, surf casting and woodworking. He’s also active in several charitable organizations including the Knights of Columbus and his local church.
